Super Eagles Soar to AFCON Semi-Finals with Thrilling 2-0 Win Over Algeria

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have advanced to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a commanding 2-0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Victor Osimhen opened the scoring and set up Akor Adams for the second goal, securing Nigeria’s 16th appearance in the last four of the tournament The Super Eagles’ last semi-final appearance was in 2019, where they lost to Algeria 2-1 but secured third place by defeating Tunisia.

Coach Eric Chelle’s team has now scored 14 goals in the tournament, breaking Nigeria’s record for most goals scored in a single AFCON With this win, Nigeria has positioned itself as one of the favorites for the trophy, especially with host Morocco awaiting them in the semi-finals.
