The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2026 was lit, and Rema was the clear winner! The ‘Calm Down’ crooner took home three major awards: Best Male Artiste in Western Africa, Best Artiste of the Year, and Best African Artiste, Duo or Group in African RnB/Soul for his hit song ‘Calm Down’. He beat out big names like Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Asake!
Other winners included Burna Boy, who snagged Album of the Year for ‘No Sign of Weakness’, and Yemi Alade, who won Best Soundtrack in Movie, Series, or Documentary for ‘You Are’ from ‘Iyanu: The Animated Series’. Shallipopi’s ‘Laho’ also made waves, winning Best Song of the Year and Best Collaboration awards!
The event went down at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with sick performances by African artistes. Lagos hosted the awards for the third time, and it was a night to remember!
