FilmOne Studios says the billion-naira box office performance of ‘Oversabi Aunty,’ the 2025 feature film by Toyin Abraham, reflects strong audience growth and increasing commercial confidence in Nollywood cinema.
The film has grossed N1,081,177,001 at the Nigerian box office, securing its place among the industry’s highest-earning theatrical releases and marking a major milestone for both the filmmaker and the studio.
FilmOne said the achievement builds on its previous success with ‘Alakada Bad and Boujee,’ which earned over N500 million in 2025, effectively doubling its box office scale within a year.
Group CEO of Filmhouse Group, which oversees FilmOne Entertainment, Filmhouse Cinemas and FilmOne Studios, Kene Okwuosa, said the film’s performance confirms a consistent upward trajectory.
“This milestone is significant not only because Oversabi Aunty has crossed N1 billion, but because of the trajectory it confirms,” Okwuosa said.
“The progression from N500 million in 2025 to N1 billion in 2026 reflects sustained audience growth, disciplined execution, and the value of long-term creative partnerships.”

He added that the result demonstrates the strength of FilmOne’s integrated production and distribution model in delivering commercially successful films.
Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Entertainment, Ladun Awobokun, said the box office feat highlights the studio’s strategic consistency.
“What stands out is not just the milestone, but the momentum behind it,” Awobokun said.
“Growth from N500 million to N1 billion across consecutive years is the result of belief in the talent, operational discipline, and close collaboration across production and distribution. Oversabi Aunty is a strong validation of that approach.”
