Eric Dane’s Death and the Controversy Building up

Eric Dane’s passing has sparked a controversy after Laura Ann Tull, a former Grey’s Anatomy extra, accused him of bullying and abuse on set.

Tull claimed Dane mocked her, spoke negatively about her, and contributed to her departure from the show. She even stated, “I am why he was fired from Grey’s,” although there’s no evidence to support this claim.

Tull’s allegations have been met with backlash from fans, who feel she’s being insensitive given Dane’s recent death from ALS. Many have called out Tull for speaking out now, rather than addressing the issue while Dane was alive.

Dane, who played Dr. Mark Sloan, had become an advocate for ALS awareness before his passing at 53. Tull’s accusations have sparked a heated debate, with some questioning her motives and others expressing support.

Eric Dane was an American actor best known for playing Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on Grey’s Anatomy. He’s also appeared in Charmed, The Last Ship, and films like Marley & Me. Dane went public with an ALS diagnosis in 2025 and became an advocate for awareness before his death in early 2026 at age 53
