The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has released its provisional timetable for the 2026 Anambra State Local Government primary elections. According to the schedule, interested candidates can purchase and submit Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from January 27 to February 6, 2026, at the party’s Awka Regional Secretariat.
Here’s what’s next:
- Screening of Aspirants: February 7-11 across 21 local government areas and 326 wards.
- Appeals: February 13, 2026.
- Ward Congresses: February 14, to elect councillorship candidates and ad-hoc delegates
- Chairmanship Primary Election: February 15
- Appeals from Primaries: February 16
The party has set the cost of chairmanship forms at N6 million and councillorship forms at N600,000, with a 50% discount for female aspirants and persons with disabilities. All payments are non-refundable, and dates are subject to change.
