Nigeria is commemorating the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, with the Federal Government and state governors paying tribute to the nation’s military personnel for their dedication and sacrifices in protecting the country’s unity, peace, and territorial integrity.

In various locations across the country, federal and state governments are holding interdenominational church services to honour the military personnel, recognizing their contributions to national security.
This annual observance on January 15 remembers those who lost their lives during the civil war, internal security operations, and international peacekeeping missions.
Leaders are using this opportunity to acknowledge the selfless sacrifices of serving, retired, and fallen soldiers, while reaffirming their commitment to supporting troops and their families.
