NOA Holds 2026 Promotion Exams Nationwide Using CBT System

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has concluded its 2026 promotion examinations across the country, successfully implementing the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) system for the second year in a row under the leadership of its Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu.

The examinations were conducted on Friday at approved centres nationwide and coordinated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The agency disclosed via its official X handle that the test began at 9:00am and ended at 10:15am.

To ensure credibility and adherence to civil service procedures, the exercise was supervised by officials from the Office of the Head of Service, JAMB, the Federal Character Commission and senior NOA officers.

Commending the process, the Director of Human Resources Management, Mrs Joanah Ayisola Olowoyo, praised Issa-Onilu for keeping his promise to streamline promotion examinations for staff.

She noted that before the introduction of CBT, workers were compelled to travel across states to sit for the tests, a practice that placed financial and logistical burdens on employees.

“The introduction of Computer-Based Testing by the current Director-General now allows staff to write their promotion exams within their respective states,” Olowoyo said, adding that the innovation would “significantly strengthen professionalism and career development within the Agency.”

Participants in the examination also welcomed the reform, describing it as cost-effective and more convenient, while acknowledging its positive impact on staff morale and productivity.

Since taking office in October 2023, Issa-Onilu has abolished the previous arrangement that required candidates to write promotion exams in designated states within their geo-political zones.

The migration from handwritten tests to CBT remains a central part of the Director-General’s reform programme aimed at modernising operations and improving efficiency within the National Orientation Agency
