Premier League: Tammy Abraham Set for Aston Villa After Besiktas Deal

Striker Tammy Abraham has officially completed a permanent transfer from Roma to Turkish side Besiktas for £11.2 million, a move that clears the path for his highly anticipated return to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old travelled to the UK on Friday and underwent a medical on Saturday after Villa agreed an £18 million deal with Besiktas. Abraham initially joined the Turkish club on loan from Roma last summer, with an obligation for Besiktas to make the move permanent. Despite their reluctance to sell, Besiktas have agreed to allow the England international to return to England.

In a statement, Besiktas confirmed:
“The conditions in the transfer contract of Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham have been fulfilled and the provision for the permanent transfer of the player has come into effect. In this context, a transfer fee of €13m will be paid to AS Roma.”

Abraham has been in impressive form this season, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances for Besiktas. The England international, capped 11 times, previously spent three years at Roma, scoring 39 goals in 120 games and helping the club lift the Europa Conference League trophy in 2022.

He also spent the 2024-25 season on loan at AC Milan, contributing 10 goals in 44 appearances. His move to Aston Villa marks a return to the Premier League, where he first rose to prominence with Chelsea.
