Tinubu Lands in Abu Dhabi, Dives into Global Sustainability Talks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, ahead of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), which kicks off on Monday. His plane landed at the Presidential Wing of Zayed International Airport at 11:30 pm local time. Tinubu was received by high-ranking officials, including Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.

The President’s visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the UAE, with a focus on sustainable development, climate action, and energy transition. Tinubu’s trip comes after meetings with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron in Europe.

The 2026 ADSW, themed “The Nexus of Next, All Systems Go,” will bring together global leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss sustainable development and climate action. Tinubu’s participation will position Nigeria as an active contributor to global sustainability conversations.
