Traditional rulers from the Atissa Kingdom in Obogoro, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, have urged a fair and timely conclusion to the legal proceedings involving former Minister of Petroleum, Chief (Mrs) Diezani Alison-Madueke, citing a decade of scrutiny without conviction.
Addressing the press in Yenagoa on behalf of twelve fellow rulers, HRH Ovie Omeleh, the paramount ruler of Yenaka, expressed growing concern over the prolonged public and legal ordeal faced by Alison-Madueke.
“We observe this situation with a growing sense of injustice. Justice that is delayed for over a decade, without a conclusive end, becomes an affront to the world’s most powerful nations,” Omeleh said.

He commended Alison-Madueke’s contributions to national development, emphasizing her role in advancing youth empowerment, strengthening traditional institutions, and fostering growth in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
“The people of the Atissa Kingdom stand by their daughter. We do not forget the leader who served her country at its highest levels, who respects the dignity of our royal house and the rights of a Nigerian citizen, who has facilitated the growth of our youth and strengthened our traditional institutions,” Omeleh added.
Omeleh also highlighted Alison-Madueke’s efforts in promoting the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development in the Niger Delta, noting that her initiatives transformed local communities and enabled residents to actively participate in infrastructure and human capital development.
“Beyond her international accolades, we declare firmly that our daughter has been an owner, service provider, and skilled professional. She transformed our people from mere spectators of the oil wealth on our soil into active participants in infrastructure and human capital development across the region,” he said.
