Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman, Director‑General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), extends profound goodwill to the Christian faithful on the occasion of Easter 2026.
In a statement released Saturday by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri (mnipr), Prof Sulaiman reflected on the spiritual importance of Easter, which commemorates the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and life over death. He urged Christians to internalize the enduring lessons of Christ’s sacrifice and to apply them in advancing peace, security, charity, equity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
The former Minister of National Planning wished all Christians a peaceful, joyful and successful celebration and appealed for dedicated prayers for the peace, progress and prosperity of the nation, particularly as the general elections approach.
