Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele has unveiled the first look at her new film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, which she wrote, directed and produced ahead of its global cinema release on December 11, 2026.
Akindele shared images from the highly anticipated drama on X, confirming that The Four: No One Fights Alone will open in cinemas nationwide on December 11, 2026.
The film features an ensemble cast including Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Waje and Wunmi Toriola.
The Four: No One Fights Alone centres on four women whose friendship and loyalty are put to the test after they leave their community for the city in a determined fight for the future of a young man they love.
The emotionally driven drama explores themes of friendship, motherhood, resilience, loyalty and the strength of ordinary women, promising an intimate story that connects personal relationships with difficult choices.
Akindele, who wrote, directed and produced the project, said the film would explore relationships and experiences that audiences could easily identify with.
Speaking recently in an interview with BellaNaija, the filmmaker said: “Audiences have grown with us over the years, and they expect stories that entertain while reflecting who we are.”
She added: “With The Four, we are exploring the relationships that shape us, challenge us and stay with us. I think audiences will find a part of themselves in this story.”
The movie marks another major theatrical outing for Akindele, who has established herself as one of Nigeria’s most successful filmmakers and a formidable force at the box office.
Her previous projects include Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa and Behind The Scenes.
Several of Akindele’s productions have recorded significant commercial success, further cementing her reputation as one of Africa’s most influential filmmakers.
With its star-studded cast and themes centred on friendship, family and resilience, The Four: No One Fights Alone is already generating anticipation among Nollywood audiences.
The movie is scheduled for a global cinema release on December 11, 2026, with FilmOne handling its theatrical distribution.
